Reservation Policy

  • All prices are subject to change without notice.
  • Full payment is required to reserve your trip.
  • If booked through a travel agent, please present a voucher to your trip guide.
  • If reserved directly through our office, please show your invoice to your trip guide.
  • Please be on time at your specified hotel for pick up.

Cancellation Policy

All trips follow this cancellation policy unless otherwise indicated in the trip description. Trips with lodging booked at non Tropical Rivers lodging venues often have more extended cancellation requirements. Please read your trip information carefully. CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ONE (1) DAY TOURS:

  • Changes or cancellations to one-day tours must be received before 4:00 p.m. the day before the tour date and must be sent by email to info@tropicalrivers.com. Otherwise, a 100% penalty of the tour cost will be applied.
  • No refunds for NO SHOWS.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TWO (2) AND THREE (3) DAY TOURS

  • Changes or cancellations to two and three day trips must be received at least three days before the trip departure date and must be sent by email to info@tropicalrivers.com. Otherwise, a 100% penalty of the tour cost will be applied.
  • No refunds for NO SHOWS.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TRIPS OF FOUR (4) OR MORE DAYS

  • For trips of four days or more, any change or cancellation must be made 15 days before the trip departure date and must be sent by email to info@tropicalrivers.com. Otherwise, a 100% penalty of the tour cost will be applied.
  • No refunds for NO SHOWS.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR TORTUGUERO – PACUARE PACKAGES

  • Cancellations must be made 16 days before the trip date for no penalty to be applied.
  • Cancellations made 15 days or less before the trip date will be subject to penalties applied by Mawamba Lodge and Tropical Rivers Ltda.
  • No refunds for NO SHOWS.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Cancellations or modifications of any tour due to illness or any special circumstances (accidents, death of a family member, hospitalization, etc.) must be sent by email to info@tropicalrivers.com, explaining why the guest was not able to participate. Respective legal documents (medical letter, death certificate, hospitalization proof, accident report, etc.) must be attached for a total or partial refund or to change tour dates.
  • No Shows: There are no refunds for no shows on the day of the tour. We will charge 100% of the tour cost.
  • Pregnant women are excluded from participating in Tropical Rivers tours.
  • Tropical Rivers reserves the right to cancel or modify reservations and to decide if partial reimbursements will be made, due to weather conditions or events beyond our control, such as: earthquakes, floods, fires, epidemics, road conditions, accidents, cancellations of external transport, or any other cause attributable to force majeure that may interrupt or delay a scheduled trip. Tropical Rivers will not be responsible for any additional expenses that the client must incur in these cases.
