Pacuare Rafting & Riverside Ecolodge 4 Days

The Pacuare Rafting & Ecolodge 4-Day adventure is the ultimate escape! The longer you stay in our Costa Rican natural paradise, the more refreshed you will be! You get two days rafting the Pacuare River, 3 nights at our award-winning ecolodge, and 2 days of adventure in the jungle.

The Pacuare River is one of the top 10 whitewater rivers in the world, renowned for its magnificent beauty and world-class whitewater. Our unique, National Geographic award-winning ecolodge rests right next to the river in one of Costa Rica’s most impressive rainforests. Deluxe, comfortable rooms with private bathrooms and hot water showers are the perfect setting for incredible nights sleeping to the sounds of nature. You can enjoy activities like guided rainforest hikes, bird watching, self-guided walks to waterfall pools to swim, and relaxing in a hammock. Meals are served in the open-air pavilion, where you can listen to nature’s soundtrack of the jungle and river.

Our four-day trip includes all the fun of our Pacuare rafting adventures. We will pick you up from your San Jose area hotel on the first morning and take you to the river, stopping for breakfast along the way. You will meet your certified rafting guides at the rafting put-in, get outfitted with all necessary equipment, and receive a comprehensive rafting safety talk, including paddling basics. This first day you will paddle easy Class 2 and 3 rapids and have a riverside picnic lunch before arriving at the ecolodge.

Days two and three are for exploring the rainforest, including guided hikes and horseback riding to a sustainable farm where you can plant a tree in our reforestation program. You will also visit a sustainable butterfly garden. On the last morning, you will raft out through the famous Pacuare Gorge. The experience is unforgettable as you raft exciting Class 3 and 4 rapids past cascading waterfalls and magnificent jungle. You’ll stop at a riverside beach for a picnic lunch. When you reach the take-out point, you will go to a place where you can shower and change clothes and then return to San Jose.
